Hansbrough, I Hate Your Stupid Face.
I am consistently amazed at the amount of hate Greg Paulus and John Scheyer get compared to this mongoloid. If Paulus had done that uncoordinated victory lap Hansbrough pulled in the ACC tournament, people would still be writing about it. *sigh*

Still on a high from last night’s finale. I’ll probably watch it another time or two just to drink it all in.
What did you think? My only gripe was no Avon. I don’t want to say anything else in case you still haven’t seen it.
David Simon: “We’re a television drama. Life is anti-drama. On some level, all we are is storytellers. We believe in our stories, we believe they have resonance and meaning. We did it for four years, and in each of the four years, our allegiances were with middle management and with labor, and they always are. The Valcheks and Rawls of the world are the Whitings and Klebanows of the world are the Royces and Clay Davises of the world. That’s how we do.”
That’s On Point: “The final montage said without saying that, no matter the best efforts of man the system forever remains the system. You can’t beat City Hall.”
Heaven and Here: “Yes, I recognize the irony of Slim Charles leaving that mark on the plot, and not Daniels, who wanted so badly to do so on the right side of the law. WHAT THE FUCK IS IN THAT FILE?!?!!? Exactly, I mean.”
More as I come across them.
Slate: “Think about this: HBO, a division of the putatively soulless Time Warner, funded, for several years, a barely watched television series with nonfamous, mostly-African-American actors that confronted two interconnected subjects, the collapse of the American city and the predicament of inner-city black people, that most premium-cable subscribers, and most everyone else, ignore with great equanimity. Astonishing, when you think about it.

I’m going to have a long day today. It’s time for the final push on my project at work. See you on the other side.
Unitl then, feel free to replay this thunderous Rajon Rondo dunk from last night’s Pistons beatdown. The Celtics became the first team to clinch a playoff spot last night. w00t!

All Points West
When All Points West was announced everyone was all like “Fuck yeah! Coachella East. This festival will be pure and total PWNAGE!”
Now that the initial line up has been announced, suddenly it seems like it’s more like “Ummmm….Hey music fans. You like Radiohead, right? Well we have them playing twice! In two days! Wehavesomeotherbandsplayingthatyoumightalsolike.” Single day passes are $89 and three-day passes are $258. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 29 at 12 Noon (ET) via Ticketmaster only.
Is seeing Radiohead play two sets on consecutive nights worth $300? I’m not sure (but then again, I think I’m more excited about seeing Underworld than Radiohead at this point). Keep in mind their regular US tour will hit NYC eventually. Will fans simply wait for those climate-controlled gigs instead? I know more bands will be added to this bill, but there’s not a whole lot here right now. I’d give the thumbs up to KOL, Underworld, Girl Talk and maybe The Go! Team, but the rest of that lineup is a total snoozefest.
Earlier today I was a bit bummed when I found out that Virgin Fest would fall on the same weekend as All Points West. Now…not so much. APW is starting to look a lot like Field Day or Across The Narrows.
Full line up (so far) after the jump.

SeeqPod Music beta – Playable Search
Sadly, Seeqpod couldn’t find Keane’s version of “She Sells Sanctuary,” which along with MMJ’s “Knot Comes Loose” was easily my most listened to song of the year. Anyway, here’s a mix of my favorite songs from this year. I made an iMix of most of this, which sould be available in the iTunes Music Store shortly. I’ll post a link when it’s up.

New Digs, originally uploaded by leafblower.

Well, we’re in and adjusting to our new surroundings quite nicely. Mr. Pink spent the day walking around and sniffing everything in sight. He’s a bit weirded out but doing okay. He’ll have more fun tomorrow when there will be lots of empty boxes to jump in and out of. As for me? Well lets just say two straight days of moving have taken their toll. I’m seriously considering selling my CD and/or vinyl collection before I move next time. Big ups to Mike for lending a helping hand today.

Back to unpacking…
